  | The inevitable happened in 2004 and the first Scania OmniDekka
arrived, in the form of a dual door version, followed a year later by a
further two, but this time with single door and, in common with the
OmniCities, bonded glazing. In 2007, a batch of four secondhand N113s with Alexander bodywork was
acquired, replacing the last of the secondhand Metrobuses.  Also in
2007, two unusual open-toppers were added to the small fleet used on the
Manchester Tour, in the form of an ex-KMB (Hong Kong) three-axle
Alexander bodied Scania N113, and a BMMO D9 formerly used in London.
        Three
more OmniDekkas arrived in 2009, again single door, but this time with
gasket glazing. In 2010, and once more inspired by vehicles in use in Hong Kong, four
three-axle K310 double deckers, with bodywork by Caetano, were bought to
        replace the Neoplans
        Single
deck deliveries had continued with further OmniCities - 3 in 2005, plus
        an ex-Scania two-door demonstrator in 2006,
and three OmniTown to replace the Dennis Darts, but 2008 heralded a
return to Wrights, with a total of seven Solar bodied K230s, an early
batch of three being followed by a further four.  These replaced
the batch of seven Alexander PS bodied Scanias (five N113s and two
K113s), which had been the first large batch of Scanias purchased by
Eldorado. On the coaching front, a steady trickle of Van Hool bodied Scania
        K-series (2 in 2007, 3 plus one S/H in 2008, 2 in 2010) had been
replacing older coaches in the Private Hire fleet and on the X-series of
Express services, and the 2010 deliveries were supplemented by a pair
with Irizar PB coachwork, a make not used since a pair of Centuries in
        2004.   |
