As mentioned below, the second-hand VDL has been
part-exchanged for a 6-months old Scania K420IB with Van Hool Alizee C49Ft
coachwork, YN57 JAO, which has been given fleet number 30. With the
exception of the colour of some of the internal trim, this vehicle is
identical to Nos.27-29.
March 2008
New are 221-224 (DA08 CCE-CCH), Scania K230UB with Wright
Solar B42F bodywork, the final four of the order for seven (see January
news), and 27-29 (DA08 ELD, DB08 ELD, DC08 ELD), Scania K420IB with Van
Hool Alizee C49Ft coachwork. These are
virtually identical to last year's deliveries (picture)
but do not have the destination equipment, as they are intended for tour
use.
A second-hand acquisition is YJ07 NPR, a VDL SB4000XF with Van Hool
coach body, from Blue Bus. It will not be put into service, but will be
part-exchanged for another new Scania similar to 27-29 above.
Following the delivery of the new vehicles, the remainder of
the batch of Alexander PS bodied Scania N113s have been withdrawn -
234/5 (J234/5 FKN), plus the pair of similarly bodied K93s 238/9 (K238/9
HKN). This leaves the two Plaxton Verde bodied N113s as the only
step entrance single deckers in the fleet, and they are now only used as
reserve vehicles. On the coach front, the two Neoplan Cityliners,
18/9 (W18/9 ELD) are now withdrawn and sold.
January 2008
New are 218-220 (DF57 EHF-EHH), Scania K230UB with Wright
Solar B42F bodywork - picture.
These are the first three of an order for a total of seven similar
vehicles to be delivered over the next couple of months, with the
remainder expected to be 08 registrations.
As a consequence, three of
the batch of five Alexander PS bodied Scania N113s have been withdrawn -
232, 233 and 236 (J232 FKN etc).
